Margaret Horton and Colin Kegel
How did you two meet? Funny story – we actually reconnected through Facebook during quarantine! We both grew up in the same hometown, Memphis. Colin was currently living in Atlanta at the time, but we still made time to see each other during all the crazy COVID-19 madness.
Tell us about the proposal: I remember mentioning to Colin months prior how fun it would be to get engaged in front of the tree at The Peabody during Christmas time. Of course, he made it happen! I thought I was meeting some family friends for a girls’ night; little did I know I would be getting engaged. My best friend pulled me aside to take a picture in front of the tree and the next thing I knew Colin came out from behind the tree and proposed; such a surreal experience and he made it so perfect. He had all of our friends and family waiting on the mezzanine above. Seeing them and being so surprised was one of my favorite moments of the night!
Describe your wedding dress: Satin fit-to-flare gown with a sweetheart neckline
Favorite moment from your big day: Being whisked away during cocktail hour to the peace and quiet of the parlor with my new husband! Just the two of us; it was such a special moment where we were able to really take it all in.
Favorite wedding details: One of my favorite details was our incredible florals: David and crew at Oxford Floral executed my vision so perfectly!
What you’re doing now: We are currently living in Memphis: Colin works in medical device sales and I am an esthetician at a medispa called The Well by Pavo.
