How would you describe your wedding day’s overall theme or vibe and why?
Our overall theme was very relaxed as this was a destination wedding. Since we weren’t getting married in Oxford, I wanted this to be a true vacation for everyone – I wanted things light and fun. We tried to romanticize all the small details!

What inspired your choice of flowers?
I am a simple gal through and through so I wanted classed and clean. We got married under a 200 year old oak tree and really wanted it to be the star of the show so we opted for less is more. We had babies breath lining the aisle and I had a bouquet that was a delicate mix of babies breath, white ranunculus, white sweet pea, white mojalik roses and touches of white
phalenopsis orchids.

Did you have a first dance? If so, what song did you choose and why?
Our first dance was to Stand By Me by Ben E. King. We knew wanted an “oldie” and once we started practicing dancing to this song in our living room we knew it was the one. We have stood by each other through a lot of seasons of life and it just fit us so perfectly.

What was on the menu, and why did you choose those dishes?
We wanted to lean in to the beach theme and passed the best crab cakes in 30A as hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour followed by fresh redfish tacos or chicken tacos accompanied by sides.
We had his and her drinks that followed this theme along with “the Sullivan” names after our sweet pup – spicy margarita, old fashioned and a classic vodka soda with lime

Were there any funny or unexpected moments that made the day memorable?
We forgot our wedding bands for our vowels and that got a good laugh from our guests when our preacher asked for the rings. I was so happy that day though it didn’t even matter. Shoutout to our wedding planner for sprinting to grab them for us.

Did you have any unique flair/touch/elements that you added to your wedding?
We had our dog Sullivan be part of our ceremony and he walked down the aisle with Landon wearing a collar made of babies breath and it was such a sweet touch to the whole day.

Besides saying ‘I do,’ what was your favorite part of your wedding and celebration?
Having all of our favorite people, the ones we love the most, in one place. As you get older you realize how hard it is to wrangle everyone into one location at the same time so having every single one of our people there as we said “I do” made it that much sweeter. Also we had a beach day with friends and family the day after the wedding and it was so nice with zero stressors and a lot of bushwackers.

What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding day?
Everyone says this but I mean it don’t sweat the small stuff everything will work out just enjoy the day it truly goes by so fast so soak in every second it really is the best day of your life.”
