Shurden and John Pileggi
How did you two meet? We met in college at a fraternity flag football fundraiser! John was the coach of my sorority’s team.
Describe your wedding dress: My vision was timeless, elegant and simple. We got married in late November and I loved the clean look of long sleeves. My dress was simple crepe, high neck, and long sleeves, but with an open back.
Favorite moment from your big day: There are so many special moments from our wedding day, but my favorite moment was walking down the aisle with my dad and looking at all of the people who mean so much to John and me, from all over the country and from all chapters of our lives. We felt so loved!
Favorite wedding details: My Aunt Debbie is an artist and specializes in calligraphy. She designed our wedding suite, painting of our venue (The Isom Place) that we used as a backdrop for our seating chart, menu, and a large velvet hand-beaded and hand-painted banner of our monogram. Our wedding colors were vibrant lilac and moss green and she incorporated little elements of our florals and table settings so beautifully! My mom Kathey, owns Wagnolia Bells, a wedding day pet service, and worked with my Aunt Debbie to include our dog, Wendall, in parts of our wedding weekend (on a hand-drawn map of Oxford, our welcome sign, cocktail sign and koozies). This meant so much to us!
What you’re doing now: John and I live just outside of Philadelphia, Pa. I am a fifth-grade teacher and John works in industrial real estate.
